Release Date December 3, 2013
Note: This book was previously titled Letting Go; updated 6/2013.
Athena is a widow and an accomplished businesswoman. She’s the type of person who exceeds expectations in business, family–life in general. Since the death of her husband, she’s had a desire to explore submissive cravings she’s had for some time. The hitch is, Athena is known as a Mistress, because that’s the role she played to her husband.
Though she knew her submissive nature was strong enough to serve her husband as a Domme, because that’s what he needed, it’s when she meets Dale, a retired Navy SEAL, that she attempts to discover what her own submissive desires are. But letting go of that control is harder than she expected.
Fortunately, Dale is an accomplished Master who can help her accept the true nature of her submission, rather than how she’s tailored it to meet the expectations of others. But in the course of learning what letting go means, both of them will learn a bit more about the nature of love between Dominant and submissive, and how it defies all categories.

  1. Good morning, all! Angel, thanks so much for having me here today. I’ll be cruising by throughout the day, so if anyone has any questions or comments about anything, I’ll be happy to answer. Otherwise, I hope you all enjoy Dale and Athena! Oh, and for a limited time, the FIRST THREE CHAPTERS are available as a PDF download on the book page of my website. Just go to http://www.storywitch.com/book-nst-lg and look to the right of the cover, under the RT Top Pick designation. Enjoy! Happy holidays, everyone!

    1. Elise, I think it’s a great way for readers to discover new sites that love the romance genre. There are so many wonderful blogs out there now, and since it’s hard to keep track of all the books coming out, they’re a good way to stay on top of releases that might be of interest. I know I’ve found more than one good read that way!

  2. Joey, I can’t wait for the party on the 10th and whenever we get a book chat but I’d like to know what was the biggest obstacle in writing this book? It seems like it’s been forever since your last release was that because of your work load, conference schedule, or just nosey readers/fans?

    1. Lol – I love my nosy readers/fans. They are never a bad thing. Of course, my first thought was “What? Willing Sacrifice and Taken by a Vampire just came out!” then I realized that was in May, so it has been about 7 months, and over the past few years, the books have usually come out within 4-6 months of one another. Wow, time flies (grin).

You’re already on the right traack for the reasons. Some part of it had to do with a three month delay as I took a little breather after last year’s pace, some part of it had to do with the conference schedule this year, and some part of it was due to the publisher’s schedule. Unrestrained was originally scheduled to release as late as Feb 2014, but fortunately my editor was able to get it pushed back at least into 2013. The good thing is that an empty space between releases doesn’t mean nothing’s being done. I wrote the four-novella series Naughty Bits for Berkley, which will come out April-June 2014, and I just turned in Divine Solace to Ellora’s Cave, so hopefully that one will also be out in the first half of the year. And during that first half of the year, I’ll be working on Nightfall (vampire/cowboy romance with Desiree holt) and then Leland and Celeste’s story (the next in the Knights of the Board Room series). So maybe we’ll get a few more books out this year (wink).

The biggest obstacle in writing Unrestrained was actually time, because of the things noted above. Of course, to be honest, that’s usually the biggest obstacle for writing any of my books. You know how crazy life can be, and finding the blocks of time needed to flesh out a good story can be challenging. But when I find them, it’s pure bliss. All is right in the world when I’m in “the zone” writing! :>

  3. I’m so looking forward to reading this story. ..it is already on my to be read list. Congratulations on the new release and keep it coming. I’m such a big fan.

    1. Titania, I hope you love Dale and Athena when they reach the top of the stack (know how those TBR lists can be – mine’s a mile long!). Note my response to Pyper above – I’ll try to get those books out to you soon! :> Thanks for coming by today.

  4. Hi, Joey…glad you were here.

Welcome everyone, sorry about the comments not getting up sooner. Been trying to set up a laptop and iPad to access blog and somehow could not get to either all day.

I know I’ll be reading Unrestrained soon. It’s on my Wishlist/TBR pile.

    1. Angel, no worries – those technical issues can be a big pain in the backside! The bane of my existence lately has been Facebook. We definitely have a love/hate relationship! (lol) Thanks again for letting folks know about Unrestrained and letting me hang out here a bit!
